Each engineer in training has to be tested fully before he or she can enter the workforce. The general electrical engineer test does pertain to the academic side of this field, as a qualified candidate must have a high school education or the equivalent, a college education and the engineering final tests before certification. That is not where the testing stops though. An electrical engineer is tried and tested each day, as their field is constantly growing and becoming more and more challenging.

An electrical engineer test means that each day that you are an engineer you are basically tested in one way or another. New products have to be developed each and every day in the technology and electrical fields. This makes your brainwork overtime and sometimes not every answer for an electrical engineer can be found in a textbook. Research comes in handy as the learning process starts with this career once your last academic test is taken and passed. Each new idea started somewhere and made it into the learning textbooks and not the other way around.

Speaking of academics, the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam has to be taken as the first big electrical engineer test. Passing this exam gets you the title of being an engineer in training so that you can do an internship under a professional and learn all that you need to before moving on in the process. After that is completed, there is the PE (Professional Engineer) exam and once passed you become the professional and essentially the teacher to another that is in training. The learning really never stops with this profession and for good reason. Technology is the brain of electronics department. Without it, those products would just be really shiny paperweights and nothing more.
