For future electrical engineers the FE exam is a vital part to their careers. This is an exam known as the Fundamentals of Engineering and it is the first part in a series of events that have to take place so that an engineering license can be obtained. This test has to be studied for and the certification review for electrical engineers is quite extensive as this test takes 8 hours to complete.
There are two scenarios in which a person would not have to participate in a certification review for electrical engineers. One is that an advanced degree in the field had already been achieved and the other reason is that an exception had occurred. That would happen because of work experience. As stated before the exam is quite extensive with 180 total questions with 120 of them focusing on the generalities of the engineering world. That includes math, chemistry, and physics just to name a few so beefing up on math and science is a very good idea.
There are 60 sections that are also a part of the certification review for electrical engineers. These are more specific to the test taker’s individual industry that they have chosen in which this case would be electrical. There are practice materials that are vital to this test. They should be borrowed or purchased as they can prepare you for the test in the best way possible. You are timed per question with 4 hours per each session with two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Taking a practice test while being timed will help to calm your nerves and get you the best possible score. The test can be taken more than once and most do so do not get too stressed out if you are one of them.
